Visa Information for IGES 2026 Delegates

All international delegates travelling to India for the India Global Education Summit (IGES) 2026 must hold a valid passport and visa.
‍

Passport Requirements

• Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of arrival in India.
• It must contain a minimum of two blank pages for entry and exit stamps.
  ‍

Visa Requirements

A visa is mandatory for all visitors to India except citizens of Nepal and Bhutan. Delegates who already hold a valid Indian visa may use it to enter the country. Those without a visa must apply for one in advance.

For IGES, delegates should apply for an e-Conference Visa.

How to Apply for an Indian Visa

You may obtain your visa through one of the following two routes, depending on your nationality:

‍1. eVisa (Recommended) from the Bureau of Immigration

Citizens of 166 countries are eligible to apply for a quick and hassle-free eVisa, typically processed within 48 hours. Information and application link:

2. Regular Visa from Indian Missions Abroad

Delegates who are not eligible for an eVisa, or who prefer a traditional visa, may apply online at:

Recommended Application Timelines

To ensure smooth processing, we advise applying at least:

• 14 days before travel for most nationalities.
• 45 days before travel for citizens of Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan, individuals of Pakistani origin, and stateless persons.

Once you complete your IGES registration, you may request an official Visa Invitation Letter to support your visa application.
